Test mounting some of the March Performance (MP)
parts, starting with the AC compressor....

The mounting setup looks ok for the AC compressor,
I don't like the angularity on that adjustable link.
It's probably ok, but I need to think about it for awhile....

Hmmmmmmm.....

On to the alternator.  This one came out the same '93 Z28 that the motor and trans came from...

I already have changes in mind for that adjustment part of the mount...

The link is missing the correct length bolt and spacer it needs at the motor end,
MP is sending out the correct bolt and spacer.  It needs the same as the AC compressor has
(see pic above...)

The alternator clears the heads, valve covers, and header tube nicely...

This bolt has about one thread turn into the head, a longer bolt with a spacer is needed.

The power steering pump.  I have not put the pulley on as yet.

The PS pump hose connections show a possible problem with hitting the upper a-arm mount....
Might have to drill new holes and rotate it for a better hose connection....

Another hose connection interference, maybe.  I can rotate that elbow on that water pump though....

There should be two sets of idler rollers, one on each side of the crank pulley,
MP only sent one, so the other one is on the way....

The whole assembly so far, I'm pretty happy with it, I just wish MP had done a better job
of figuring out just what I needed, as I wanted a "no frills, all functional" setup, which
removed some things I didn't want from the packing list.  But they forgot a couple
of things that I really needed....
But they are taking care of it....

This is the ATI Camaro LT1 damper, it has a shorter flanged hub than the
ATI Corvette LT1 flanged hub, so I set it in a forward position, where the
Corvette hub would sit, in order to test fit these pieces.

The new Corvette LT1 flanged hub is on order,
should be here in 2 or 3 weeks.

You can see how with another set of idler rollers on the other side of the crank pulley,
I will be able to get quite a nice "pinch" action of the 6 rib belt on the crank pulley.

Worked some more on location for the power steering pump,
there's room to rotate the pump 90 degrees and drill new holes,
and other location on this bracket does not have enough metal
for good support of this pump....

In the location that March Performance provided, the fittings are too close to the
upper left A-arm support.  The pressure hose connection is tight but usable...

But the feed hose from the remote reservoir is aimed directly at the A-arm support.
This 90 ell is pressed in, with the right tools, it could be pulled and pressed back in
facing the rear, but the header tubes are also right there, not a good solution...

Rotated the pump 90 degrees CCW, so the fittings are better, two new
holes would be required in the bracket....

But there is still a problem with the bottom of the alternator and the header tubes...

Test fit the drive pulley to make sure it would clear the A-arm mount....
It does....

Another alternative would be to move the hole on the bracket next to the Optispark to this
lower hole in the block, and drill a new hole for the bolt that is closer to the pump,
looked closely at that, it is a real possibility....

Instead I rotated the pump 180 CW degrees from the last position,
I think this will work ok, the pump should clear any air out even
though it is in a "high" position relative to the gravity feed hose in
and the pressure feed hose out....

These pump mount holes are 8 mm, 1.25 thread, and the bracket is 3/4" thick aluminum,
I need to drill two new holes, and use two bolts 40 mm long to do this.

For some reason March Performance sent me two of the alternator mount extensions
for the adjustment rod...

So I decided to use them both....

And for the AC compressor adjustment rod....

I decided to go to this method.
Spacers will be cut to fit on the bolt on each side of the adjuster....

Still waiting for the second set of idler rollers to arrive....

I have one of these Danchuck cooling setups for a '55 Chevy.

For a stick shift and AC, so it should have an AC condenser already mounted there,
Need to verify that...

More Later....
