I put this truck on the road in 2000,
the taillights stopped working
the other day....
But there was power back there,
and the bulbs were good...
So I pulled the taillights apart, and found
these rusted out springs under the contacts...
Luckily a buddy had a spare pair of these
taillights on his shelf, so after some
parts trading, and a couple cold beers,
I pulled the old taillights off and
started installing these new ones...
He didn't have bulbs, so I bought a pair of these led bulbs,
had to give 'em a try...
As the wire colors did not match what
I already had in the truck, I had
to run some power and touch wires
to get the polarity I wanted, set up the
running lights on the less bright circuit, and
the brakes/turn signal on the brighter circuit...
running lights on the left, brake lights on the right...
At night these are really bright !!
